Find the Cause

Stand in an already explored area and wait before moving. If the view is smooth at rest but pauses while traveling, preparing or generating terrain may contribute to the problem. If it stays slow at rest, review the graphics workload too.

Adjust Settings

Lower render distance first and repeat the same route. Then compare with shaders disabled or a simpler resource pack if you use them. Keep notes so you can identify which change actually helped.

Best Balance

Close unnecessary background applications and check that the game is using the intended graphics device. Avoid changing memory, shaders and several mods at once. A smaller stable view is often more comfortable during exploration than a setting that repeatedly stalls.
